Psalm 91

¹ Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
   will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.^[a]
² I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
   my God, in whom I trust.” ³ Surely he will save you
   from the fowler’s snare
   and from the deadly pestilence.
⁴ He will cover you with his feathers,
   and under his wings you will find refuge;
   his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
⁵ You will not fear the terror of night,
   nor the arrow that flies by day,
⁶ nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
   nor the plague that destroys at midday.
⁷ A thousand may fall at your side,
   ten thousand at your right hand,
   but it will not come near you.
⁸ You will only observe with your eyes
   and see the punishment of the wicked.
⁹ If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”
   and you make the Most High your dwelling,
¹⁰ no harm will overtake you,
   no disaster will come near your tent.
¹¹ For he will command his angels concerning you
   to guard you in all your ways;
¹² they will lift you up in their hands,
   so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
¹³ You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
   you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
¹⁴ “Because he^[b] loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
   I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
¹⁵ He will call on me, and I will answer him;
   I will be with him in trouble,
   I will deliver him and honor him.
¹⁶ With long life I will satisfy him
   and show him my salvation.”

He Answers Prayer

I was not sure that God would listen or answer my prayers, until my daughter was born. I didn’t realize how close He was and how he hears us when we call. My daughter was born premature. She only weighed one pound and 4 ounces. The doctor told us she only had a 10 percent chance of survival and that if she lasted through the night her chances would be higher. She was put on a ventilator, because her lungs were not fully formed. The story is a long one, and someday I may tell the whole story. The short version is that daily we depended on the mercy of our Father God. Every day my little girl had a new struggle, and every day He was there listening to my family cry out to Him. Through surgery, infection, oxygen struggles He was there to carry us. I am so thankful that I have a God who answers when I need Him. I am so thankful that today my daughter is 11 and she is so healthy. No one would ever suspect that she had such a traumatic entry into our world. He is our HEALER! He is our SALVATION! He is our SAVIOR! He is my FATHER GOD! He holds my hand through the trials and tears and He alone sees me through.

Miracles Still Happen

The last few days I have been thinking of all the things the Lord has done for me. How He has provided when I asked and how He has healed when we have prayed for healing. I know that God does not always answer the way we expect Him to, but He does answer. All of my life I have seen the hand of Lord and have known of His strength and power. It occured to me that God did not do miracles in my life so that I would keep His goodness to myself. I should share what He has done for me. So throughout this blog, I will begin to share the miracles that Jesus has done in my life and the lives of others. He is the same God that did miracles for Moses in the Old Testament of the Bible. He is the same God who turned water into wine in the NewTestament and healed the blind. He has not stopped His mercy toward us, and He has not turned from us. He wants to show us His power so that we will believe. Ask Him today to be Lord of your life and tell Him what you need today. Come to Him expecting to see His miracles in your life.
